Jane made the journey to Lanark to judge Carluke & District's Canine Society's open show. It was a well run show with a lovely atmosphere. Jane was really pleased with her quality entry of dogs. Some of her decisions were really close in most of the classes and Jane wished she could have awarded placings beyond 4th place. Jane was delighted to see her best of breed take Gundog Group 2.
We were delighted at our baby girl Willow, Threerivers Willow, who won 3rd place in her puppy class (out of 6 puppies) tonight at just 6 months and 1 days old. She had never been to ringcraft before and had never had a judge go over her but she showed, stood and moved really well in the ring.
So proud of our boy Ross (Carpenny Yeates at Threerivers) taking 1st Open Dog, Best Veteran Dog and the icing on the cake, Best Veteran in Breed at Border Counties Show today. Ross and Jane thoroughly enjoyed competing for Best Veteran In Show in a lovely line up. Thank you to breed judge Patricia Ponsford.for thinking so highly of Ross.
Threerivers Labradors are delighted to discover that Jane has been added onto the Labrador Council's C list breed specialist judges. We are very grateful to all the committee of the Labrador Club of Scotland for supporting Jane's application. Jane has been invited to judge labradors at Carluke Open Show in May 2017. and is looking forward to her second appointment as a breed specialist.
Jane was given the privilege of judging today at Ripon & District Canine Society's Open Show at Ripon Racecourse. The weather was sunny but not too hot for the dogs. She thoroughly enjoyed her day and her first judging appointment; she had a very nice entry of some really lovely dogs. Some placings were very close decisions and she was especially delighted to see her Best Puppy in Breed placed 3rd in the gun dog puppy group.
It was well worth Jane's journey to Carluke to attend a Labrador breed seminar and judging assessment hosted by the Labrador Club of Scotland. She thoroughly the day, particularly listening to guest speaker, David Craig, and being given the opportunity to have championship judges give guidance on the exhibits. The assessment wasn't as bad as she thought it was going to be and she enjoyed 'judging' the dogs. We are delighted to say that Jane is now the proud holder of a KC Breed Certificate in Judging Competence.
Jane hopes to judge in the future. Today's certificate has been put with the other certificates she holds in Requirements of a Dog Show Judge, Conformation and Movement and Points of a Dog.
We are very proud to announce that tonight, at Warwick on Eden DTC, Tara gained her KC Good Citizens Silver Award. She has been working very hard towards her assessment but never failed to be a 'jack in the box' when it came to the stay exercises. However, tonight, she didn't let Jane down and stayed for the whole 2 minutes without moving!
Kees (In The Charts At Threerivers) and Wispa (Bramblekay Easter Sparkle At Threerivers) enjoyed themselves tonight at a fun charity show in Carlisle in aid of Prostrate Cancer. Kees took 1st AV Sporting and Reserve AV Gundog and Wispa took 2nd AV Gundog Puppy. They are pictured below with the rosettes they won between them.
Quinn and Jane went to the annual Cumberland Show for a day out and came home with a couple of rosettes! The Cumberland Agricultural Society Canine Section had organised a companion dog show with proceeds going to MacMillan Caner. Quinn and Jane decided to have some fun and they entered a couple of classes - AV Pedigree Gundog and Handsome Dog. Quinn won 1st AV Gundog and went on to win Best Pedigree in Show. Thank you to Paul Davies, pedigree judge, and to the committee for organising a well run friendly show. It was fantastic to watch everyone (some showing for first time) enjoying themselves.
We are very pleased and proud to announce that Kees (In The Charts at Threerivers IMP FR) has been awarded his KC Good Citizens Bronze Award. Kees has been working very hard to achieve this at Warwick on Eden Dog Training Club.
